An established community arts space...
is given a new lease of life
number6 Studio Gallery became a community arts facility in 2005 and was then successfully operated and developed by the Nidderdale Visual Arts Charity for 16 years.
In September 2021, a new non-profit organisation began operating the space. The newly formed Number 6 Studio Gallery CIC; a community interest company, operates primarily to benefit the creative community of Nidderdale, by maintaining the premises, the timetable of users, organisation of classes, courses, workshops and exhibitions.
The Number 6 Studio Gallery CIC is grateful to be supported by the Nidderdale Visual Arts Charity as it takes this well established community arts space onto its next phase of development; by way of a grant and by enabling the studio to continue to offer users their wide range of specialist art equipment.
As well as the studio providing a space for individual artists and makers to develop and be nurtured creatively, it is intended that the studio will enable members of the community of all ages to:
-
realise the importance of being creative
-
develop friendships and connect with each other
-
feel a positive impact on their health and well-being
